Le point de vue du jardin botanique a été créé à la Quinta do Bom Sucesso, construite en 1881 par la famille Reid. Ouvert au public en 1960, et d'une superficie d'environ huit hectares, dont cinq hectares sont plantés de jardins, il abrite une infinité de variétés d'arbres et d'arbustes ornementaux. On y trouve plus de 2000 plantes.
